قال عضو مجلس الشيوخ الأميركى البارز جون ماكين اليوم الأحد إن عمليات عسكرية ضد سوريا حيث أدى قمع النظام لمعارضيه إلى أكثر من ثلاثة آلاف قتيل، أمر يمكن أن يؤخذ في الاعتبار.
وقال ماكين في جلسة بعنوان "أولويات السياسة الخارجية الأميركية" في المنتدى الاقتصادى العالمي المنعقد حاليا في الشونة على شاطىء البحر الميت (50 كلم غرب عمان) "الآن وبعد أن تم الانتهاء من العمليات العسكرية في ليبيا، سوف سيكون هناك تركيز من جديد على ما يمكن أن يؤخذ بعين الاعتبار من خيارات عسكرية عملية لحماية أرواح المدنيين في سوريا".
واضاف "يبدو ان الثورة السورية دخلت الآن مرحلة جديدة هناك المزيد من الانشقاقات في صفوف الجيش وأكثر من ذلك يبدو أن السوريين قد حملوا السلاح ضد النظام".
واوضح ماكين ان "هناك المزيد من الدعوات من قبل المعارضة لنوع من التدخل العسكري الأجنبي، ونحن نستمع اليهم ونعمل مع المجلس الوطني السوري".
وقال ماكين خصم اوباما في الانتخابات الرئاسية التي جرت في 2008، ان "على نظام الرئيس السوري بشار الاسد ان لا يظن انه يمكن ان يفلت مما ارتكبه من قتل جماعي، القذافي ارتكب هذا الخطأ الذي كلفه كل شيء".
وتشهد سوريا منذ منتصف مارس حركة احتجاجية لا سابق لها سقط خلالها اكثر من ثلاثة آلاف قتيل بينهم 187 طفلا على الاقل منذ 15 مارس بحسب الامم المتحدة التي حذرت من مخاطر وقوع "حرب اهلية".
من جانب آخر، اكد ماكين انه "سيكون من الحكمة على الزعماء الايرانيين الاستماع الى النصائح"، مشيرا الى ان "محاولتهم اغتيال السفير السعودي في واشنطن ذكر الأميركيين بالخطر الذي يشكله هذا النظام".
وكانت ايران نفت بشدة ضلوعها في ما وصفته الولايات المتحدة مؤامرة اعدها فيلق القدس (القوات الخاصة في الحرس الثوري الايراني) لقتل السفير السعودي.
وانتقد ماكين "قوى الظلام في هذه المنطقة، خصوصا في إيران التي تعمل أكثر من أي وقت مضى لاختطاف ما يسميه الكثيرون الربيع العربي".

I do not know what is the right translation of the last word, it likely means possible. We tried different ways to bring the freedom to the Syrian people:
1- They went peacefully to ask Bashar and his people to have the people their freedom. He as the other tyrants tried to play it with them and give them false hope. When they pressed more he attacked them and killed them mercilessly in order to scare them like his father.
2- We tried to get other Arab Tyrants to stand and press him hard and they failed. The same was done with Turkey.
3- We tried to convince Iran and Hazeb Allah not to give the Syrian tyrant any support including moral support.
4- We do not want America to get involved in the Arab/Muslim world since many times people are confused about the real intention. However people are dying and the Syrian people had gave Bashar many chances he is not going anywhere. The Syrian people will be very difficult to retreat since he gave them no choice but coward down or I will kill you.
5- I hate to see any American involvement however, Iran put us in this situation if they to give Bashar an ultimatum and have him go anywhere and leave the country and his close allies we will be good. Russia and China do not like Americans involvement. Thus Iran if they are really Muslims have to have pressure on Syria so we avoid a new war. Do you really want Muslims and Arabs liberated or you want to hijack their revolutions as Senator McCain said.

For all I am very independent I do not work for America, Iran, the Tyrants... All I believe in: is democracy is the way to go, people who governed by their own consensus they wanted peace and prosperity on the other hand tyrants usually look for wars for their self glory or to divert their people or unite them against the tyrant for external threat. Is democracy worse this sacrifice? I believe much so. If Saddam was removed from power in his first few years we would not have the first or the second Gulf wars. Millions of people would have been alive and billions of dollars would have been spent in people better living conditions and not wars, while the tyrant was enjoying his places as long as he could .
