Conveying the Message in the Quran

By: Maged Taman

1- God ordered Muhammad to convey his message:

5:67 O Messenger! Make known that which hath been revealed unto thee from thy Lord, for if thou do it not, thou will not have conveyed His message. Allah will protect thee from mankind. Lo! Allah guideth not the disbelieving folk.

2- The duty of the messenger is to only convey the message: God is the one who would guide.

5:99 The duty of the messenger is only to convey (the message). Allah knoweth what ye proclaim and what ye hide.

3- The message is conveyed first to the closest to the prophet:

26:214 And warn thy tribe of near kindred

4- The message is then conveyed to all the people of Mecca and its surroundings:

42:7 And thus we have inspired in thee a Lecture in Arabic, that thou mayest warn the mother town and those around it, and mayest warn of a day of assembling whereof there is no doubt. A host will be in the Garden, and a host of them in the Flame.

5- The message of Islam is to be conveyed to all mankind:

34:28 And We have not sent thee (O Muhammad) save as a bringer of good tidings and a warner unto all mankind; but most of mankind know not.

6- The message is conveyed also by prophet Muhammad to the Jinn: they are unseen being created of fire, Satan and his offspring are part of them.

46:29 And when We inclined toward thee (Muhammad) certain of the Jinn, who wished to hear the Qur'an and, when they were in its presence, said: Give ear! and, when it was finished, turned back to their people, warning.

7- The messenger is not paid to convey the message:

6:90 Those were the (prophets) who received Allah's guidance: Copy the guidance they received; Say: "No reward for this do I ask of you: This is no less than a message for the nations."

12:104 And no reward dost thou ask of them for this: it is no less than a message for all creatures.

8- Patience is most important to convey the message: the most who were patients of messengers were Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad.

46:35 Then have patience (O Muhammad) even as the stout of heart among the messengers (of old) had patience, and seek not to hasten on the doom for them. On the day when they see that which they are promised (it will seem to them) as though they had tarried but an hour of daylight. A clear message. Shall any be destroyed save evil living folk?

9- God is the one who choose who is the messenger: he choose few of us and we have to accept the way he communicate with us.

6:124 And when a token cometh unto them, they say: We will not believe till we are given that which Allah's messengers are given. Allah knoweth best with whom to place His message. Humiliation from Allah and heavy punishment will smite the guilty for their scheming.

10- The messengers and us both will be asked about the message: did they convey it and did we receive it and follow it.

7:6 Then verily We shall question those unto whom (Our message) hath been sent, and verily We shall question the messengers.
