Chapter 78: The Tidings

In this Chapter God asks what people are asking about?. This introduction grabs our attention then he sates they are asking about great tiding without telling what it is. However he promise that he will tell about that. Then in a lot of verses he remind us of his creation and sustenance of our universe. After he makes his case clear these great tidings are: the people who acknowledge these signs of creation and follow God and his messages have the good tidings and those who went against him have the bad tidings.

78:1 Whereof do they question one another? عَمَّ يَتَسَاءلُونَ (78:1) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:2 (It is) of the awful tidings, عَنِ النَّبَإِ الْعَظِيمِ (78:2) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:3 Concerning which they are in disagreement. الَّذِي هُمْ فِيهِ مُخْتَلِفُونَ (78:3) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:4 Nay, but they will come to know! كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ (78:4) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:5 Nay, again, but they will come to know! ثُمَّ كَلَّا سَيَعْلَمُونَ (78:5) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:6 Have We not made the earth an expanse, أَلَمْ نَجْعَلِ الْأَرْضَ مِهَادًا (78:6) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:7 And the high hills bulwarks? وَالْجِبَالَ أَوْتَادًا (78:7) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:8 And We have created you in pairs, وَخَلَقْنَاكُمْ أَزْوَاجًا (78:8) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:9 And have appointed your sleep for repose, وَجَعَلْنَا نَوْمَكُمْ سُبَاتًا (78:9) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:10 And have appointed the night as a cloak, وَجَعَلْنَا اللَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا (78:10) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:11 And have appointed the day for livelihood. وَجَعَلْنَا النَّهَارَ مَعَاشًا (78:11) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:12 And We have built above you seven strong (heavens), وَبَنَيْنَا فَوْقَكُمْ سَبْعًا شِدَادًا (78:12) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:13 And have appointed a dazzling lamp, وَجَعَلْنَا سِرَاجًا وَهَّاجًا (78:13) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:14 And have sent down from the rainy clouds abundant Water, وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاء ثَجَّاجًا (78:14) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:15 Thereby to produce grain and plant, لِنُخْرِجَ بِهِ حَبًّا وَنَبَاتًا (78:15) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:16 And gardens of thick foliage. وَجَنَّاتٍ أَلْفَافًا (78:16) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:17 Lo! the Day of Decision is a fixed time, إِنَّ يَوْمَ الْفَصْلِ كَانَ مِيقَاتًا (78:17) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:18 A day when the trumpet is blown, and ye come in multitudes, يَوْمَ يُنفَخُ فِي الصُّورِ فَتَأْتُونَ أَفْوَاجًا (78:18) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:19 And the heaven is opened and becometh as gates, وَفُتِحَتِ السَّمَاء فَكَانَتْ أَبْوَابًا (78:19) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:20 And the hills are set in motion and become as a mirage. وَسُيِّرَتِ الْجِبَالُ فَكَانَتْ سَرَابًا (78:20) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:21 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, إِنَّ جَهَنَّمَ كَانَتْ مِرْصَادًا (78:21) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:22 A home for the rebellious. لِلْطَّاغِينَ مَآبًا (78:22) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:23 They will abide therein for ages. لَابِثِينَ فِيهَا أَحْقَابًا (78:23) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:24 Therein taste they neither coolness nor (any) drink لَّا يَذُوقُونَ فِيهَا بَرْدًا وَلَا شَرَابًا (78:24) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:25 Save boiling water and a paralyzing cold: إِلَّا حَمِيمًا وَغَسَّاقًا (78:25) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:26 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). جَزَاء وِفَاقًا (78:26) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:27 For lo! they looked not for a reckoning; إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ حِسَابًا (78:27) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:28 They called Our revelations false with strong denial. وَكَذَّبُوا بِآيَاتِنَا كِذَّابًا (78:28) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:29 Everything have We recorded in a Bookوَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَاهُ كِتَابًا (78:29) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:30 So taste (of that which ye have earned). No increase do We give you save of torment. فَذُوقُوا فَلَن نَّزِيدَكُمْ إِلَّا عَذَابًا (78:30) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:31 Lo! for the duteous is achievement إِنَّ لِلْمُتَّقِينَ مَفَازًا (78:31) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:32 Gardens enclosed and vineyards, حَدَائِقَ وَأَعْنَابًا (78:32) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:33 And maidens for companions, وَكَوَاعِبَ أَتْرَابًا (78:33) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:34 And a full cup. وَكَأْسًا دِهَاقًا (78:34) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:35 There hear they never vain discourse, nor lying لَّا يَسْمَعُونَ فِيهَا لَغْوًا وَلَا كِذَّابًا (78:35) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:36 Requital from thy Lord a gift in payment جَزَاء مِّن رَّبِّكَ عَطَاء حِسَابًا (78:36) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:37 Lord of the heavens and the earth, and (all) that is between them, the Beneficent; with Whom none can converse. رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا الرحْمَنِ لَا يَمْلِكُونَ مِنْهُ خِطَابًا (78:37) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:38 On the day when the angels and the Spirit stand arrayed, they speak not, saving him whom the Beneficent alloweth and who speaketh right. يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الرُّوحُ وَالْمَلَائِكَةُ صَفًّا لَّا يَتَكَلَّمُونَ إِلَّا مَنْ أَذِنَ لَهُ الرحْمَنُ وَقَالَ صَوَابًا (78:38) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:39 That is the True Day. So whoso will should seek recourse unto his Lord. ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمُ الْحَقُّ فَمَن شَاء اتَّخَذَ إِلَى رَبِّهِ مَآبًا (78:39) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi

78:40 Lo! We warn you of a doom at hand, a day whereon a man will look on that which his own hands have sent before, and the disbeliever will cry: "Would that I were dust!" إِنَّا أَنذَرْنَاكُمْ عَذَابًا قَرِيبًا يَوْمَ يَنظُرُ الْمَرْءُ مَا قَدَّمَتْ يَدَاهُ وَيَقُولُ الْكَافِرُ يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنتُ تُرَابًا (78:40) Baset - Hussari - Minshawi
