Can a Prophet have a Temper?

By: Maged Taman

True that Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said the I am not sent to spell curse on people he did that like all the prophets they do not curse people until the people stood against them oppress them and defy God's words. In fact before God wrath come in people the prophets would curse their people.

Jesus (PBUH) used to curse some of the Jews who were wicked as well David did the same. Actually many of the Hebrow prophets cursed some of the Jews all over the old testament.

5:78 (Picktall) Those of the children of Israel who went astray were cursed by the tongue of David, and of Jesus, son of Mary. That was because they rebelled and used to transgress.

God curse in the Quran is plain and strong to people who disobeyed him and stood against his messages:

2:88 (Picktall) And they say: Our hearts are hardened. Nay, but Allah hath cursed them for their unbelief. Little is that which they believe. -

2:89 (Picktall) And when there cometh unto them a Scripture from Allah, confirming that in their possession though before that they were asking for a signal triumph over those who disbelieved and when there cometh unto them that which they know (to be the Truth) they disbelieve therein. The curse of Allah is on disbelievers. -

2:159 (Picktall) Those who hide the proofs and the guidance which We revealed, after We had made it clear in the Scripture: such are accursed of Allah and accursed of those who have the power to curse. -

2:161 (Picktall) Lo! those who disbelieve, and die while they are disbelievers; on them is the curse of Allah and of angels and of men combined. -

3:87 (Picktall) As for such, their guerdon is that on them rests the curse of Allah and of angels and of men combined. -

4:46 (Picktall) Some of those who are Jews change words from their context and say: "We hear and disobey; hear thou as one who heareth not" and "Listen to us!" distorting with their tongues and slandering religion. If they had said: "We hear and we obey; hear thou, and look at us" it had been better for them, and more upright. But Allah hath cursed them for their disbelief, so they believe not, save a few.

4:47 (Picktall) O ye unto whom the Scripture hath been given! Believe in what We have revealed concerning that which ye possess, before We destroy countenances so as to confound them, or curse them as We cursed the Sabbath breakers (of old time). The commandment of Allah is always executed. -

4:52 (Picktall) Those are they whom Allah hath cursed, and he whom Allah hath cursed, thou (O Muhammad) wilt find for him no helper.

Thus the curse of God and his prophets to their people is not injustice but God and his prophets they do that after it become very clear to them that they just have wickedness in their hearts. When the prophets give up on their people then God takes over:

40:5 (Picktall) The folk of noah and the factions after them denied (their messengers) before these, and every nation purposed to seize their messenger and argued falsely, (thinking) thereby to refute the Truth. Then I seized them, and how (awful) was My punishment.
