1- God 's existence in human mind: there is no atheism tendency. Our brain is pulling us towards God and not atheism that is why most of people over the ages are believing in God or Gods. There is no revelation sent to atheists like God sent revelations to some of us. fake religions are not disproof to the existence of true religions. Atheism is exaggerated pride against the presence of God, it could be sincere or self motivated but at best it is a conjecture.
45:24 And they say: "What is there but our life in this world? We shall die and we live, and nothing but time can destroy us." But of that they have no knowledge: they merely conjecture: -
وَقَالُوا مَا هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا يُهْلِكُنَا إِلَّا الدَّهْرُ وَمَا لَهُم بِذَلِكَ مِنْ عِلْمٍ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا يَظُنُّونَ (45:24)
2- Hence there is creation Atheism have the burden of proof that there is no creator:
52:35 or were they created out of naught? or are they the creators? أَمْ خُلِقُوا مِنْ غَيْرِ شَيْءٍ أَمْ هُمُ الْخَالِقُونَ (52:35)
3- There is an intelligent design we can attest to both theists and atheists: the thing is the atheists think it is inherited in the nature. For theists there is God 's first creation with inherited laws that make the creation follow perfect pattern and not random. Interestingly the creation is a random occurrence for atheists. The burden in proof is on the atheists to make something random and let it take its course to be in harmony and having a pattern. Threw some chairs in the room and come next day to see if the chairs by themselves will stand in a nice order.
20:50 He (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He Who gave to each (created) thing its form and nature, and further, gave (it) guidance."قَالَ رَبُّنَا الَّذِي أَعْطَى كُلَّ شَيْءٍ خَلْقَهُ ثُمَّ هَدَى (
4- The most evident of order are the heavens: It is also the most impressive to all humans in all ages. You do not find the sun or moon dancing in the sky there is a fine order and the stars have certain path that people used it for guidance.
67:3 Who hath created seven heavens in harmony. Thou (Muhammad) canst see no fault in the Beneficent One's creation; then look again: Canst thou see any rifts? الَّذِي خَلَقَ سَبْعَ سَمَاوَاتٍ طِبَاقًا مَّا تَرَى فِي خَلْقِ الرَّحْمَنِ مِن تَفَاوُتٍ فَارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ هَلْ تَرَى مِن فُطُورٍ (67:3)
67:4 Then look again and yet again, thy sight will return unto thee weakened and made dim. -
ثُمَّ ارْجِعِ الْبَصَرَ كَرَّتَيْنِ يَنقَلِبْ إِلَيْكَ الْبَصَرُ خَاسِأً وَهُوَ حَسِيرٌ (67:4)
5- There is a simple law of parallel intelligence: "if you have used your intelligence you admittedly using it against another intelligence. The more of knowledge and intelligence you use the more sophisticated the other intelligence". The Quran has many scientific facts:
31:10 He hath created the heavens without supports that ye can see, and hath cast into the earth firm hills (mountains), so that it quake not with you; and He hath dispersed therein all kinds of beasts. And We send down water from the sky and We cause (plants) of every pairs of goodly kind to grow therein. خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ بِغَيْرِ عَمَدٍ تَرَوْنَهَا وَأَلْقَى فِي الْأَرْضِ رَوَاسِيَ أَن تَمِيدَ بِكُمْ وَبَثَّ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ السَّمَاء مَاء فَأَنبَتْنَا فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ زَوْجٍ كَرِيمٍ (31:10)
21:30 Do not the Unbelievers see that the heavens and the earth were joined together (as one unit of creation), before we clove them asunder? We made from water every living thing. Will they not then believe? أَوَلَمْ يَرَ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا أَنَّ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ كَانَتَا رَتْقًا فَفَتَقْنَاهُمَا وَجَعَلْنَا مِنَ الْمَاء كُلَّ شَيْءٍ حَيٍّ أَفَلَا يُؤْمِنُونَ (21:30)
6- Agnostics attest to the presence of God: Agnostics are more pragmatic they agree with most of us of the existence of this intelligence or supreme being behind the creation. But they do not believe in organized religion and they do not think that God contacted man as in religions particularly the three major ones. For most believers they found it difficult that God will create man and the whole universe without declaring that he is the creator.
31:25 If thou shouldst ask them: Who created the heavens and the earth? they would answer: Allah. Say: Praise be to Allah! But most of them know not (they deny it his oness or right to command us). - وَلَئِن سَأَلْتَهُم مَّنْ خَلَقَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ لَيَقُولُنَّ اللَّهُ قُلِ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ بَلْ أَكْثَرُهُمْ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ
7- Agnostics and atheists do not see a purpose in creation: Some people may think it is unjust to God to warn the disbelievers. He have two just causes he gave us a lot of evidences and he gave us paradise for doing few good years in earth and recognizing him. Agnostics and atheists have the right for non-faith however they have to have all the strong arguments to be ready when they meet him in the day of judgement. I was one of them at one point in my life, but I got smart about my eternity.
75:36 Thinketh man that he is to be left aimless? أَيَحْسَبُ الْإِنسَانُ أَن يُتْرَكَ سُدًى (75:36)
38:27 And We created not the heaven and the earth and all that is between them in vain. That is the opinion of those who disbelieve. And woe unto those who disbelieve, from the Fire! وَمَا خَلَقْنَا السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضَ وَمَا بَيْنَهُمَا بَاطِلًا ذَلِكَ ظَنُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا فَوَيْلٌ لِّلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنَ النَّارِ (38
3:191 Such as remember Allah, standing, sitting, and reclining, and consider the creation of the heavens and the earth, (and say): Our Lord! Thou createdst not this in vain. Glory be to Thee! Preserve us from the doom of Fire. الَّذِينَ يَذْكُرُونَ اللّهَ قِيَامًا وَقُعُودًا وَعَلَىَ جُنُوبِهِمْ وَيَتَفَكَّرُونَ فِي خَلْقِ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَذا بَاطِلاً سُبْحَانَكَ فَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ (3:191)
4:1 O mankind! Be careful of your duty to your Lord Who created you from a single soul and from it created its mate and from them twain hath spread abroad a multitude of men and women. Be careful of your duty toward Allah in Whom ye claim ( your rights ) of one another, and toward the wombs (that bore you ). Lo! Allah hath been a Watcher over youيَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ اتَّقُواْ رَبَّكُمُ الَّذِي خَلَقَكُم مِّن نَّفْسٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَخَلَقَ مِنْهَا زَوْجَهَا وَبَثَّ مِنْهُمَا رِجَالاً كَثِيرًا وَنِسَاء وَاتَّقُواْ اللّهَ الَّذِي تَسَاءلُونَ بِهِ وَالأَرْحَامَ إِنَّ اللّهَ كَانَ عَلَيْكُمْ رَقِيبًا
8- Finding God is a rest to the mind and the heart: do not tell me this is another coincidence.
13:28 Who have believed and whose hearts have rest in the remembrance of Allah. Verily in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest! الَّذِينَ آمَنُواْ وَتَطْمَئِنُّ قُلُوبُهُم بِذِكْرِ اللّهِ أَلاَ بِذِكْرِ اللّهِ تَطْمَئِنُّ الْقُلُوبُ (13:28)
9- We to search God through the prophets and their scripture: This is the way God revealed himself, so do not look to the sky for a miracle or wait for an angel only few had that. His everlasting miracle is the Quran, read it.27:7 (Remember) when Moses said unto his household: Lo! I spy afar off a fire; I will bring you tidings thence, or bring to you a borrowed flame that ye may warm yourselvesإِذْ قَالَ مُوسَى لِأَهْلِهِ إِنِّي آنَسْتُ نَارًا سَآتِيكُم مِّنْهَا بِخَبَرٍ أَوْ آتِيكُم بِشِهَابٍ قَبَسٍ لَّعَلَّكُمْ تَصْطَلُونَ (27:7)
27:8 But when he reached it, he was called, saying: Blessed is whosoever is in the fire and whosoever is round about it! And glorified be Allah, the Lord of the Worlds! فَلَمَّا جَاءهَا نُودِيَ أَن بُورِكَ مَن فِي النَّارِ وَمَنْ حَوْلَهَا وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ (27:8)
27:9 O Moses! Lo! it is I, Allah, the Mighty, the Wise. يَا مُوسَى إِنَّهُ أَنَا اللَّهُ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ (27:9)
7:158 Say (O Muhammad): O mankind! Lo! I am the messenger of Allah to you all--(the messenger of) Him unto whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. There is no god save Him. He quickeneth and He giveth death. So believe in Allah and His messenger, the Prophet who can neither read nor write, who believeth in Allah and in His words and follow him that haply ye may be led aright. قُلْ يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنِّي رَسُولُ اللّهِ إِلَيْكُمْ جَمِيعًا الَّذِي لَهُ مُلْكُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ لا إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ يُحْيِـي وَيُمِيتُ فَآمِنُواْ بِاللّهِ وَرَسُولِهِ النَّبِيِّ الأُمِّيِّ الَّذِي يُؤْمِنُ بِاللّهِ وَكَلِمَاتِهِ وَاتَّبِعُوهُ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَهْتَدُونَ (7:158)
10- God is close, he is within: For most people regardless of their religion they feel the God within particularly when they feel close to death or have bad sickness. There is no atheist in the foxhole as they say.
50:16 We verily created a man and We know what his soul whispereth to him, and We are nearer to him than his jugular vein. وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا الْإِنسَانَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِ نَفْسُهُ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ الْوَرِيدِ (50:16)
هُوَ الَّذِي يُسَيِّرُكُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنتُمْ فِي الْفُلْكِ وَجَرَيْنَ بِهِم بِرِيحٍ طَيِّبَةٍ وَفَرِحُواْ بِهَا جَاءتْهَا رِيحٌ عَاصِفٌ وَجَاءهُمُ الْمَوْجُ مِن كُلِّ مَكَانٍ وَظَنُّواْ أَنَّهُمْ أُحِيطَ بِهِمْ دَعَوُاْ اللّهَ مُخْلِصِينَ لَهُ الدِّينَ لَئِنْ أَنجَيْتَنَا مِنْ هَـذِهِ لَنَكُونَنِّ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ (10:22) 10:22 (Picktall) He it is Who maketh you to go on the land and the sea till, when ye are in the ships and they sail with them with a fair breeze and they are glad therein, a storm wind reacheth them and the wave cometh unto them from every side and they deem that they are overwhelmed therein; (then) they cry unto Allah, making their faith pure for Him only; If Thou deliver us from this, we truly will be of the thankful.
There is a strong desire in us almost as genuine as our genes that call us for the God within. In good time we have the desire to thank him and in bad time we have the urge to plead to him. When we do something wrong we feel that he is watching us and he would not like what we did.
This God who created us and the universe and we are going back to him after we die we ought to be sure who is he. We have to look for him and we have to identify him. There are hundreds of religions out there the three major religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam have to be the first to be considered since all have a chain in prophets and came with same commandments and the father of the three religions Abraham (PBUH) was the same prophet that God has contacted.
Islam ought to be the first to study since is the last of the three messages and the best preserved. Statistically most of us know mentally and spiritually that there is a God within and ought to find him. Quran will not only identify him you will listen to his speech, find his attributes and follow his guidance.
Quran2:186 AND IF My servants ask thee about Me - behold, I am near; I respond to the call of him who calls, whenever he calls unto Me: let them, then, respond unto Me, and believe in Me, so that they might follow the right way.
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُواْ لِي وَلْيُؤْمِنُواْ بِي لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ (2:186)
Most people who converted to Islam they did that because they found the God within is the same God of the Quran: powerful, merciful, influencing our affairs and history and gave us the way to our happiness in our life and the after-life. He met their expectation. Some hard time to us in this life is part of God plan for our eternal salvation. The problem with atheists and agnostics they wants a perfect world now which will be in the hereafter like indicated by God while in this life we strive to follow him as best as we can to have good life in earth. Some humility and great reward, do not be like the verse:
16:4 He hath created man from a drop of fluid, yet behold! he is an open opponent. خَلَقَ الإِنسَانَ مِن نُّطْفَةٍ فَإِذَا هُوَ خَصِيمٌ مُّبِينٌ (16:4)
