Why the Speaker of the Quran is not Muhammad.

By: Maged Taman

1- The speaker (God) is the one who sent to us Muhammad:

(25:56) 25:56 (Picktall) And We have sent thee (O Muhammad) only as a bearer of good tidings and a warner.

(29:51) 29:51 (Picktall) Is it not enough for them that We have sent down unto thee the Scripture which is read unto them? Lo! herein verily is mercy, and a reminder for folk who believe.

(33:45) 33:45 (Picktall) O Prophet! Lo! We have sent thee as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner

(34:28) 34:28 (Picktall) And We have not sent thee (O Muhammad) save as a bringer of good tidings and a warner unto all mankind; but most of mankind know not.

2- God sent to us the Quran:

(3:3) 3:3 (Picktall) He hath revealed unto thee (muhammad) the Scripture with truth, confirming that which was (revealed) before it, even as He revealed the Torah and the Gospel

(3:7) 3:7 (Picktall) He it is Who hath revealed unto thee (muhammad) the Scripture wherein are clear revelations--They are the substance of the Book--and others (which are) allegorical. But those in whose hearts is doubt pursue, forsooth, that which is allegorical seeking (to cause) dissension by seeking to explain it. None knoweth its explanation save Allah. And those who are of sound instruction say: We believe therein; the whole is from our Lord; but only men of understanding really heed.

(6:19) 6:19 (Picktall) Say (O muhammad) : What thing is of most weight in testimony? Say: Allah is witness between you and me. And this Qur'an hath been inspired in me, that I may warn therewith you and whomsoever it may reach. Do ye in truth bear witness that there are gods beside Allah? Say: I bear no such witness. Say: He is only One God. Lo! I am innocent of that which ye associate (with Him).

3- God and not Muhammad who was the witness of the stories of the prophets:

(3:44) 3:44 (Picktall) This is of the tidings of things hidden. We reveal it unto thee (Mohammad). Thou wast not present with them when they threw their pens (to know) which of them should be the guardian of Mary, nor wast Thou present with them when they quarrelled (thereupon).

(12:102) 12:102 (Picktall) This is of the tidings of the Unseen which We inspire in thee (Muhammad). Thou wast not present with them when they fixed their plan and they were scheming.

وَمَا كُنتَ بِجَانِبِ الْغَرْبِيِّ إِذْ قَضَيْنَا إِلَى مُوسَى الْأَمْرَ وَمَا كُنتَ مِنَ الشَّاهِدِينَ (28:44) 28:44 (Picktall) And Thou (Muhammad) wast not on the western side (of the Mount) when We expounded unto Moses the commandment, and Thou wast not among those present;

(7:101) 7:101 (Picktall) Such were the townships. We relate some tidings of them unto thee (muhammad). Their messengers verily came unto them with clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty), but they could not believe because they had before denied. Thus doth Allah print upon the hearts of disbelievers (that they hear not).

4- The speaker (God) in the Quran answer the questions posed to Muhammad:

7:187 (Picktall) they ask thee of the (destined) Hour, when will it come to port. Say: Knowledge thereof is with my Lord only. He alone will manifest it at its proper time. It is heavy in the heavens and the earth. It cometh not to you save unawares. they question thee as if thou couldst be well informed thereof. Say: Knowledge thereof is with Allah only, but most of mankind know not.

(17:85) 17:85 (Picktall) they will ask thee concerning the Spirit. Say: The Spirit is by command of my Lord, and of knowledge ye have been vouchsafed but little.

(18:83) 18:83 (Picktall) they will ask thee of Dhul-Qarneyn. Say: I shall recite unto you a remembrance of him.

(20:105) 20:105 (Picktall) they will ask thee of the mountains (on that day). Say: My Lord will break them into scattered dust.

5- Muhammad life is short and he will be gone like the other prophets:

(3:144) 3:144 (Picktall) muhammad is but a messenger, messengers (the like of whom) have passed away before him. Will it be that, when he dieth or is slain, ye will turn back on your heels? He who turneth back doth no hurt to Allah, and Allah will reward the thankful.

6- The fact is they deny God's revelation and not Muhammad:

(6:33) 6:33 (Picktall) We know well how their talk grieveth thee, though in truth they deny not thee (muhammad) but evil-doers flout the revelations of Allah.

7- In fact Muhammad has no power of his own away from the revelation or personal benefit from the revelation:

6:50 (Picktall) Say (O muhammad, to the disbelievers): I say not unto you (that) I possess the treasures of Allah, nor that I have knowledge of the Unseen; and I say not unto you: Lo! I am an angel. I follow only that which is inspired in me. Say: Are the blind man and the seer equal? Will ye not then take thought

(6:66) 6:66 (Picktall) Thy people (O muhammad) have denied it, though it is the Truth. Say: I am not put in charge of you.

(6:90) 6:90 (Picktall) Those are they whom Allah guideth, so follow their guidance. Say (O muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee for it. Lo! it is naught but a Reminder to (His) creatures.

8- God and not Muhammad is the one who brings victory and push away plots:

(8:17) 8:17 (Picktall) Ye (Muslims) slew them not, but Allah slew them. And thou (muhammad) threwest not when thou didst throw, but Allah threw, that He might test the believers by a fair test from Him. Lo! Allah is Hearer, Knower.

(8:30) 8:30 (Picktall) And when those who disbelieve plot against thee (O muhammad) to wound thee fatally, or to kill thee or to drive thee forth; they plot, but Allah (also) plotteth; and Allah is the best of plotters. -

9- God ordered Muhammad to say that he fears God and would not mingle with his revelation:

(10:15) 10:15 (Picktall) And when Our clear revelations are recited unto them they who look not for the meeting with Us say: Bring a Lecture other than this, or change it. Say (O muhammad): It is not for me to change it of my own accord. I only follow that which is inspired in me. Lo! If I disobey my Lord I fear the retribution of an awful Day.

10- God would not allow Muhammd to ask forgiveness or pray on the disbelievers when they die: remember that they were not passive disbelievers they did every thing possible to block his message.

(9:80) 9:80 (Picktall) Ask forgiveness for them (O muhammad), or ask not forgiveness for them; though thou ask forgiveness for them seventy times Allah will not forgive them. That is because they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger, and Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

(9:84) 9:84 (Picktall) And never (O muhammad) pray for one of them who dieth, nor stand by his grave. Lo! they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger, and they died while they were evil-doers.

11- God is the witness over Muhammad and all of us:

10:61 (Picktall) And thou (muhammad) art not occupied with any business and thou recitest not a lecture from this (Scripture), and ye ( mankind) perform no act, but We are Witness of you when ye are engaged therein. And not an atom's weight in the earth or in the sky escapeth your Lord, nor what is less than that or greater than that, but it is (written) in a clear Book.
