Shift in Quran in Pronun and the Tense of the Verb

By: Maged Taman

10:61 (Y. Ali) In whatever business thou mayest be, and whatever portion thou mayest be reciting from the Qur'an,- and whatever deed ye (mankind) may be doing,- We were witnesses thereof when ye are deeply engrossed therein. Nor is hidden from thy Lord (so much as) the weight of an atom on the earth or in heaven. And not the least and not the greatest of these things but are recorded in a clear record.

Explanation:

In verse 10:61 God shifts from talking to A Muhammad (PBUH) to all of us in B. In C God was recording as we were doing our deeds, he used for us the verb in the present tense, while his recording (were) is in the past. It shows how he is being a witness even before we start our deeds. It also explain how while we are embarking in an action he is aware while we get in depth that we may forget his presence. In D God goes again to the present tense which in Arabic used to express facts to make us aware of his witness and knowledge in everything in the heavens and earth.

That is why Muslims have hard time to believe that a human came up with the Quran. The desperate arguments now is a UFO or Satan/Jinn came up with the Quran. Make your choice now, in the day of Judgment it will be all over do not sell your creator for fear or gain in this life, the eternal life is the true life.

10:61 A (Y. Ali) In whatever business thou mayest be, and whatever portion thou mayest be reciting from the Qur'an,-
B and whatever deed ye (mankind) may be doing,-
C We were witnesses thereof when ye are deeply engrossed therein.
D Nor is hidden from thy Lord (so much as) the weight of an atom on the earth or in heaven. And not the least and not the greatest of these things but are recorded in a clear record.
