English Pickthall: [42:3]Thus Allah the Mighty, the Knower inspireth thee (Muhammad) as (He inspired) those before thee.
Spanish: [42:3]Así es como Alá, el Poderoso, el Sabio, hace una revelación, a ti y a quienes fueron antes de ti.

English Pickthall: [42:4]Unto Him belongeth all that is in the heavens and all that is in the earth, and He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.
Spanish: [42:4]Suyo es lo que está en los cielos y en la tierra. Él es el Altísimo, el Grandioso.

English Pickthall: [42:5]Almost might the heavens above be rent asunder while the angels hymn the praise of their Lord and ask forgiveness for those on the earth. Lo! Allah, He is the Forgiver, the Merciful.
Spanish: [42:5]Casi se hienden los cielos allí arriba al celebrar los ángeles las alabanzas de su Señor y pedir Su perdón en favor de los que están en la tierra. ¿No es Alá el Indulgente, el Misericordioso?

English Pickthall: [42:6]And as for those who choose protecting friends beside Him, Allah is Warden over them, and thou art in no wise a guardian over them.
Spanish: [42:6]A los que han tomado amigos en lugar de tomarle a Él, Alá les vigila. Tú no eres su protector.

English Pickthall: [42:7]And thus We have inspired in thee a Lecture in Arabic, that thou mayst warn the mother-town and those around it, and mayst warn of a day of assembling whereof there is no doubt. A host will be in the Garden, and a host of them in the Flame.
Spanish: [42:7]Así es como te revelamos un Corán árabe, para que adviertas a la metrópoli y a los que viven en sus alrededores y para que prevengas contra el día indubitable de la Reunión. Unos estarán en el Jardín y otros en el fuego de la gehena.

English Pickthall: [42:8]Had Allah willed, He could have made them one community, but Allah bringeth whom He will into His mercy. And the wrong-doers have no friend nor helper.
Spanish: [42:8]Alá, si hubiera querido, habría hecho de ellos una sola comunidad. Pero introduce en Su misericordia a quien Él quiere. Los impíos no tendrán amigo ni auxiliar.

English Pickthall: [42:9]Or have they chosen protecting friends besides Him ? But Allah, He (alone) is the Protecting Friend. He quickeneth the dead, and He is Able to do all things.
Spanish: [42:9]¿Han tomado amigos en lugar de tomarle a Él? Pues Alá es el Amigo. Él resucita a los muertos, es omnipotente.

English Pickthall: [42:10]And in whatsoever ye differ, the verdict therein belongeth to Allah. Such is my Lord, in Whom I put my trust, and unto Whom I turn.
Spanish: [42:10]Alá es Quien arbitra vuestras discrepancias, cualesquiera que sean. Tal es Alá, mi Señor. En Él confio y a Él me vuelvo arrepentido.

English Pickthall: [42:11]The Creator of the heavens and the earth. He hath made for you pairs of yourselves, and of the cattle also pairs, whereby He multiplieth you. Naught is as His likeness; and He is the Hearer, the Seer.
Spanish: [42:11]Creador de los cielos y de la tierra. Os ha dado esposas salidas de vosotros y parejas salidas de vuestros rebaños, diseminándoos así. No hay nada que se Le asemeje. Él es Quien todo lo oye, Quien todo lo ve.

English Pickthall: [42:12]His are the keys of the heavens and the earth. He enlargeth providence for whom He will and straiteneth (it for whom He will). Lo! He is Knower of all things.
Spanish: [42:12]Suyas son las llaves de los cielos y de la tierra. Dispensa el sustento a quien Él quiere: a unos con largueza, a otros con mesura. Es omnisciente.

English Pickthall: [42:13]He hath ordained for you that religion which He commended unto Noah, and that which We inspire in thee (Muhammad), and that which We commended unto Abraham and Moses and Jesus, saying: Establish the religion, and be not divided therein. Dreadful for the idolaters is that unto which thou callest them. Allah chooseth for Himself whom He will, and guideth unto Himself him who turneth (toward Him).
Spanish: [42:13]Os ha prescrito en materia de religión lo que ya había ordenado a Noé, lo que Nosotros te hemos revelado y lo que ya habíamos ordenado a Abraham, a Moisés y a Jesús: «¡Que rindáis culto y que esto no os sirva de motivo de división!» A los asociadores les resulta difícil aquello a que tú les llamas. Alá elige para Sí a quien Él quiere y dirige a Él a quien se arrepiente.

English Pickthall: [42:14]And they were not divided until after the knowledge came unto them, through rivalry among themselves; and had it not been for a Word that had already gone forth from thy Lord for an appointed term, it surely had been judged between them. And those who were made to inherit the Scripture after them are verily in hopeless doubt concerning it.
Spanish: [42:14]No se dividieron, por rebeldía mutua, sino después de haber recibido la Ciencia. Y, si no llega a ser por una palabra previa de tu Señor, remitiendo a un término fijo, ya se habría decidido entre ellos. Quienes, después, heredaron la Escritura dudan seriamente de ella.

English Pickthall: [42:15]Unto this, then, summon (O Muhammad). And be thou upright as thou art commanded, and follow not their lusts, but say: I believe in whatever scripture Allah hath sent down, and I am commanded to be just among you. Allah is our Lord and your Lord. Unto us our works and unto you your works; no argument between us and you. Allah will bring us together, and unto Him is the journeying.
Spanish: [42:15]Así, pues, llama. Sigue la vía recta, como se te ha ordenado, y no sigas sus pasiones. Y di: «Creo en toda Escritura que Alá ha revelado. Se me ha ordenado que haga justicia entre vosotros. ¡Alá es nuestro Señor y Señor vuestro! Nosotros responderemos de nuestros actos y vosotros de los vuestros. ¡Que no haya disputas entre nosotros y vosotros! Alá nos reunirá... ¡Es Él el fin de todo!»

English Pickthall: [42:16]And those who argue concerning Allah after He hath been acknowledged, their argument hath no weight with their Lord, and wrath is upon them and theirs will be an awful doom.
Spanish: [42:16]Quienes disputan a propósito de Alá después de que se le ha escuchado, esgrimen un argumento sin valor para su Señor. Incurren en ira y tendrán un castigo severo.

English Pickthall: [42:17]Allah it is Who hath revealed the Scripture with truth, and the Balance. How canst thou know ? It may be that the Hour is nigh.
Spanish: [42:17]Alá es quien ha hecho descender la Escritura con la Verdad, y la Balanza. ¿Quien sabe? Quizá la Hora esté próxima...

English Pickthall: [42:18]Those who believe not therein seek to hasten it, while those who believe are fearful of it and know that it is the Truth. Are not they who dispute, in doubt concerning the Hour, far astray ?
Spanish: [42:18]Los que no creen en ella desearían que se adelantara, mientras que los que creen tiemblan sólo de pensar en ella y saben que es un hecho. Los que disputan sobre la Hora ¿no están profundamente extraviados?

English Pickthall: [42:19]Allah is gracious unto His slaves. He provideth for whom He will. And He is the Strong, the Mighty.
Spanish: [42:19]Alá es bondadoso con Sus siervos. Provee a las necesidades de quien Él quiere. Él es el Fuerte, el Poderoso.

English Pickthall: [42:20]Whoso desireth the harvest of the Hereafter, We give him increase in its harvest. And whoso desireth the harvest of the world, We give him thereof, and he hath no portion in the Hereafter.
Spanish: [42:20]A quien desee labrar el campo de la vida futura se lo acrecentaremos. A quien, en cambio, desee labrar el campo de la vida de acá, le daremos de ella. pero no tendrá ninguna parte en la otra vida.

English Pickthall: [42:21]Or have they partners (of Allah) who have made lawful for them in religion that which Allah allowed not ? And but for a decisive word (gone forth already), it would have been judged between them. Lo! for wrong-doers is a painful doom.
Spanish: [42:21]¿Tienen asociados que les hayan prescrito en materia de religión lo que Alá no ha sancionado? Si no se hubiera ya pronunciado la sentencia decisiva, se habría decidido entre ellos. Los impíos tendrán un castigo doloroso.

English Pickthall: [42:22]Thou seest the wrong-doers fearful of that which they have earned, and it will surely befall them, while those who believe and do good works (will be) in flowering meadows of the Gardens, having what they wish from their Lord. This is the great preferment.
Spanish: [42:22]Verás a los impíos temer por lo que han merecido, que recaerá en ellos, mientras que los que hayan creído y obrado bien estarán en los prados de los jardines y tendrán junto a su Señor lo que deseen. ¡Ése es el gran favor!

English Pickthall: [42:23]This it is which Allah announceth unto His bondmen who believe and do good works. Say (O Muhammad, unto mankind): I ask of you no fee therefor, save lovingkindness among kinsfolk. And whoso scoreth a good deed We add unto its good for him. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Responsive.
Spanish: [42:23]Ésta es la buena nueva que Alá anuncia a Sus siervos, que creen y obran bien. Di: «Yo no os pido salario a cambio, fuera de que améis a los parientes». A quien obre bien, le aumentaremos el valor de su obra. Alá es indulgente, muy agradecido.

English Pickthall: [42:24]Or say they: He hath invented a lie concerning Allah ? If Allah willed, He could have sealed thy heart (against them). And Allah will wipe out the lie and will vindicate the truth by His words. Lo! He is Aware of what is hidden in the breasts (of men).
Spanish: [42:24]O dirán: «Se ha inventado una mentira contra Alá». Alá sellará, si quiere, tu corazón. Pero Alá disipa lo falso y hace triunfar la Verdad con Sus palabras. Él sabe bien lo que encierran los pechos.

English Pickthall: [42:25]And He it is Who accepteth repentance from His bondmen, and pardoneth the evil deeds, and knoweth what ye do,
Spanish: [42:25]Él es Quien acepta el arrepentimiento de Sus siervos y perdona las malas acciones. Y sabe lo que hacéis.

English Pickthall: [42:26]And accepteth those who do good works, and giveth increase unto them of His bounty. And as for disbelievers, theirs will be an awful doom.
Spanish: [42:26]Escucha a quienes creen y obran bien y les da más de Su favor. Los infieles, en cambio, tendrán un castigo severo.

English Pickthall: [42:27]And if Allah were to enlarge the provision for His slaves they would surely rebel in the earth, but He sendeth down by measure as He willeth. Lo! He is Informed, a Seer of His bondmen.
Spanish: [42:27]Si Alá dispensara el sustento a Sus siervos con largueza, se insolentarían en la tierra. Lo que hace, en cambio, es concederles con mesura lo que quiere. Está bien informado sobre Sus siervos, les ve bien.

English Pickthall: [42:28]And He it is Who sendeth down the saving rain after they have despaired, and spreadeth out His mercy. He is the Protecting Friend, the Praiseworthy.
Spanish: [42:28]Él es Quien envía de lo alto la lluvia abundante, cuando ya han perdido toda esperanza, y difunde Su misericordia. Él es el Amigo, el Digno de Alabanza.

English Pickthall: [42:29]And of His portents is the creation of the heaven and the earth, and of whatever beasts He hath dispersed therein. And He is Able to gather them when He will.
Spanish: [42:29]Entre Sus signos figuran la creación de los cielos y de la tierra, los seres vivos que en ellos ha diseminado y que, cuando quiere, puede reunir.

English Pickthall: [42:30]Whatever of misfortune striketh you, it is what your right hands have earned. And He forgiveth much.
Spanish: [42:30]Cualquier desgracia que os ocurre, es como castigo a vuestras obras, pero perdona mucho.

English Pickthall: [42:31]Ye cannot escape in the earth, for beside Allah ye have no protecting friend nor any helper.
Spanish: [42:31]No podéis escapar en la tierra y no tenéis, fuera de Alá, amigo ni auxiliar.

English Pickthall: [42:32]And of His portents are the ships, like banners on the sea;
Spanish: [42:32]Entre sus signos figuran las embarcaciones en el mar como mojones.

English Pickthall: [42:33]If He will He calmeth the wind so that they keep still upon its surface - Lo! herein verily are signs for every steadfast grateful (heart). -
Spanish: [42:33]Si quiere, calma el viento y se inmovilizan en su superficie. Ciertamente, hay en ello signos para todo aquél que tenga mucha paciencia, mucha gratitud.

English Pickthall: [42:34]Or He causeth them to perish on account of that which they have earned - And He forgiveth much -
Spanish: [42:34]O bien les hace perecer, como castigo por lo que han merecido, pero perdona mucho.

English Pickthall: [42:35]And that those who argue concerning Our revelations may know they have no refuge.
Spanish: [42:35]Para que sepan quienes discuten sobre Nuestros signos que no tendrán escape.

English Pickthall: [42:36]Now whatever ye have been given is but a passing comfort for the life of the world, and that which Allah hath is better and more lasting for those who believe and put their trust in their Lord,
Spanish: [42:36]Todo lo que habéis recibido es breve disfrute de la vida de acá. En cambio, lo que Alá tiene es mejor y más duradero para quienes creen y confían en su Señor,

English Pickthall: [42:37]And those who shun the worst of sins and indecencies and, when they are wroth, forgive,
Spanish: [42:37]evitan cometer pecados graves y deshonestidades y, cuando están airados, perdonan,

English Pickthall: [42:38]And those who answer the call of their Lord and establish worship, and whose affairs are a matter of counsel, and who spend of what We have bestowed on them,
Spanish: [42:38]escuchan a su Señor, hacen la azalá, se consultan mutuamente, dan limosna de lo que les hemos proveído,

English Pickthall: [42:39]And those who, when great wrong is done to them, defend themselves,
Spanish: [42:39]se defienden cuando son víctimas de opresión.

English Pickthall: [42:40]The guerdon of an ill-deed is an ill the like thereof. But whosoever pardoneth and amendeth, his wage is the affair of Allah. Lo! He loveth not wrong-doers.
Spanish: [42:40]Una mala acción será retribuida con una pena igual, pero quien perdone y se reconcilie recibirá su recompensa de Alá. Él no ama a los impíos.

English Pickthall: [42:41]And whoso defendeth himself after he hath suffered wrong - for such, there is no way (of blame) against them.
Spanish: [42:41]Quienes, tratados injustamente, se defiendan, no incurrirán en reproche.

English Pickthall: [42:42]The way (of blame) is only against those who oppress mankind, and wrongfully rebel in the earth. For such there is a painful doom.
Spanish: [42:42]Sólo incurren en él quienes son injustos con los hombres y se insolentan en la tierra injustamente. Esos tales tendrán un castigo doloroso.

English Pickthall: [42:43]And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things.
Spanish: [42:43]Quien es paciente y perdona, eso sí que es dar muestras de resolución.

English Pickthall: [42:44]He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no protecting friend after Him. And thou (Muhammad) wilt see the evil-doers when they see the doom, (how) they say: Is there any way of return ?
Spanish: [42:44]Aquél a quien Alá extravía no tendrá, después de Él, ningún amigo. Cuando los impíos vean el castigo, les verás que dicen: «¿Y no hay modo de regresar?»

English Pickthall: [42:45]And thou wilt see them exposed to (the Fire), made humble by disgrace, and looking with veiled eyes. And those who believe will say: Lo! the (eternal) losers are they who lose themselves and their housefolk on the Day of Resurrection. Lo! are not the wrong-doers in perpetual torment ?
Spanish: [42:45]Les verás expuestos a él, abatidos de humillación, mirando con disimulo, mientras que quienes hayan creído dirán: «Quienes de verdad pierden son los que el día de la Resurrección se han perdido a sí mismos y han perdido a sus familias». ¿No tendrán los impíos un castigo permanente?

English Pickthall: [42:46]And they will have no protecting friends to help them instead of Allah. He whom Allah sendeth astray, for him there is no road.
Spanish: [42:46]Fuera de Alá. no tendrán ningunos amigos que les auxilien... Aquél a quien Alá extravía no podrá dar con camino.

English Pickthall: [42:47]Answer the call of your Lord before there cometh unto you from Allah a Day which there is no averting. Ye have no refuge on that Day, nor have a ye any (power of) refusal.
Spanish: [42:47]Escuchad a vuestro Señor antes de que llegue un día que Alá no evitará. Ese día no encontraréis refugio, ni podréis negar.

English Pickthall: [42:48]But if they are averse, We have not sent thee as a warder over them. Thine is only to convey (the message). And lo! when We cause man to taste of mercy from Us he exulteth therefor. And if some evil striketh them because of that which their own hands have sent before, then lo! man is an ingrate.
Spanish: [42:48]Si se apartan, no te hemos mandado para ser su custodio, sino sólo para transmitir. Cuando hacemos gustar al hombre una misericordia venida de Nosotros, se regocija. Pero, si le sucede un mal como castigo a sus obras, entonces, el hombre es desagradecido.

English Pickthall: [42:49]Unto Allah belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth. He createth what He will. He bestoweth female (offspring) upon whom He will, and bestoweth male (offspring) upon whom He will;
Spanish: [42:49]El dominio de los cielos y de la tierra pertenece a Alá. Crea lo que quiere. Regala hijas a quien Él quiere y regala hijos a quien Él quiere.

English Pickthall: [42:50]Or He mingleth them, males and females, and He maketh barren whom He will. Lo! He is Knower, Powerful.
Spanish: [42:50]o bien les da ambos, varones y hembras, o hace impotente a quien Él quiere. Es omnisciente, omnipotente.

English Pickthall: [42:51]And it was not (vouchsafed) to any mortal that Allah should speak to him unless (it be) by revelation or from behind a veil, or (that) He sendeth a messenger to reveal what He will by His leave. Lo! He is Exalted, Wise.
Spanish: [42:51]A ningún mortal le es dado que Alá le hable si no es por inspiración, o desde detrás de una cortina, o mandándole un enviado que le inspire, con Su autorización, lo que Él quiere. Es altísimo, sabio.

English Pickthall: [42:52]And thus have We inspired in thee (Muhammad) a Spirit of Our command. Thou knewest not what the Scripture was, nor what the Faith. But We have made it a light whereby We guide whom We will of Our bondmen. And lo! thou verily dost guide unto a right path,
Spanish: [42:52]Así es como te hemos inspirado un Espíritu que procede de Nuestra orden. Tú no sabías lo que eran la Escritura y la Fe, pero hemos hecho de él luz con la que guiamos a quienes queremos de Nuestros siervos. Ciertamente, tú guías a los hombres a una vía recta,

English Pickthall: [42:53]The path of Allah, unto Whom belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Do not all things reach Allah at last ?
Spanish: [42:53]la vía de Alá, a quien pertenece lo que está en los cielos y en la tierra. ¿No es Alá el fin de todo?
