Say: 'O My servants who have transgressed against your own souls:do not despair of God's mercy, for God forgives all sins.It is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.'Qur'an (39:53)
Say: 'O My servants who have transgressed against your own souls: The sinners in this verse are described by God very kindly, it describes them in humility that they did sins that are hurting their souls, he describe them in a sympathetic way.
do not despair of God's mercy,: Since they are described as servants to God and feeling that with sins they are hurting their souls they deserved his forgiveness. In fact the word in Arabic yakknato describes them in despair seeking God forgiveness which again confirm their humility and sincerity.
for God forgives all sins: The answer as expected from a gracious God, they came with humility as servants to God and despairingly seeking forgiveness and he tell them he, but forgive all sins.
It is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful: The names or attributes of God which are appropriate here are the forgiving and merciful. Thus he forgives the sins and he is merciful which even exceed the just of being forgiving. Most of us will forgive some of what people done to us very few can forgive all of other people injustices against them. In hadith to prophet Muhammad God had declared that his mercy superseded his justice. Thus we have a great offer to repent to God and make him happy with changing our ways of lives. Thus those insist on sins and those who are standing against God's message will have no second look at the day of judgment. A lot of enemies of Islam repented and died as the best of Muslims.
