Sahabi: Companions of the Prophet

Sahabi A Sahabi (Companion of Muhammad S) is a Muslim who had met the Messenger of Allah and died as a Muslim. The Sahabah (Plural of Sahabi) were exceptional Muslims, who were willing to do any thing for the cause of Allah (God) and His final Rasul (Messenger) even at the cost of their lives. They spent their lives strictly in accordance to the Islamic code taught and demonstrated to them by the last Rasul (Messenger) of Allah, Muhammad S. They sacrificed everything for the sake of Allah (God) to follow the Sunnah (Traditions of Muhammad S). The Sahabah (Companions of Muhammad S) strived hard to stay close to the Rasul (Messenger) of Allah, Muhammad S to learn Islam. They faithfully transmitted the Sunnah (Traditions of Muhammad S) to the next generations. Their self-less hard work is evident in the one and a quarter billion strong Muslim Ummah (Community), which try to faithfully follow the Sunnah (Traditions of Muhammad S). Muslims give a lot of respect to Sahabah (Companions of Muhammad S) and recite a Du'a (Invocation) upon taking their names: Radi Allahu 'Anhu for male Sahabi and Radi Allahu 'Anha for female Sahabiyah. It means 'May Allah be pleased with him/her'. Allah (God) is very pleased with them:

And the foremost who embraced Islam of the Muhajirun (those who migrated from Makkah to Al-Madinah) and the Ansar (the citizens of Al-Madinah who helped and gave aid to the Muhajirun) and also those who followed them exactly (in Faith). Allah is well-pleased with them as they are well-pleased with Him. He has prepared for them Gardens under which rivers flow (Paradise), to dwell therein forever. That is the supreme success. Surah (Chapter) at-Taubah (The Repentance) Qur-an 9:100

The glory of the Quran come from a lot of points one of them is to mention in important people in the build up of Islam. They are the companions of the prophet. They are the first generation of Muslims who love the prophet and had the great faith in Islam as the religion of truth and the generation who followed them. They are not only the build of Islam but a great evidence of being the true religion of God most of them prayed behind the prophet for long times of night fought to protect him and their religion. Except for the few hypocrites they remained in strong faith that what Muhammad revealed to them is the revelation of God. They used to follow him everywhere. They never said they saw some Jews or Christians teaching him the Quran unlike the people who never witnessed Muhammad in daily life and brought all allegation about him. They certainly will answer to God in the day of Judgment.
The companions praised by God in another verse of the Quran:

مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا (33:23)
33:23 (Picktall) Of the believers are men who are true to that which they covenanted with Allah. Some of them have paid their vow by death (in battle), and some of them still are waiting; and they have not altered in the least;
