The Throne Verse.

2:255 Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous. اللّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاء وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَؤُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ (2:255)

See the Glory of God in this great single verse:

1- God is one, no God besides him.
2- God is alive and eternal.
3- No slumber or sleep overtake him.
4- To whom belongs all in the heavens and earth.
5- No one intercedes to whom except by his permission.
6- He knows what is in front or behind people, the past and future and the elusive second between them.
7- People do not encompass any of his knowledge except by his permission.
8- His authority include the heaven and earth.
9- He is not weary of preserving them.
10- He is the sublime and tremendous.

This verse describes the glory of God as King of kings. He is like kings has throne, unlike them his throne is full of Glory as seen above. Thus He is only one God of the throne unlike the kings who are multiple and contentious. He is alive and eternal, in fact all kings will die and he will decide their eternity. He does not sleep or have a slumber like the kings of this world. He owns what is in heavens and earth, compare that by the limited possession of the kings of this world. He owns the day of judgement and no one intercedes except by his permission, unlike the kings of the world who will be judged by him in the day of judgement. He knows every thing about people the past and futures to the elusive second between them, even with best intelligence governments still can not know every thing about us. In fact the human knowledge including intelligence data is only permitted by him. In fact he can let them know certain data in certain times. His authority include the heavens and earth and not limited like the kings of the earth. In fact it is not difficult for him to maintain them. He authorizes the history and meantime he gives us the free will to do that. How he does that we do not know. Because of all of the above he is the sublime and tremendous.
